  • Availability: El Alamein is a popular global destination; we strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible to ensure availability for the May 2026 dates.

Transportation & Getting to the Venue

Arriving in Egypt

Most international attendees will arrive via the following hubs:

  • Borg El Arab International Airport (HBE): The closest international airport to the venue (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes by car). Taxis and private car services are readily available at the arrivals terminal.
  • Cairo International Airport (CAI): Egypt’s primary aviation hub. Attendees arriving here can take a domestic flight to Borg El Arab or a direct private car/shuttle service to El Alamein (approximately 3 hours via the Wadi El Natrun-Alamein Road).
  • El Alamein International Airport (DBB): Primarily serves charter and select seasonal flights. If available, this is the most convenient point of entry, located just minutes from the city center.

How to Reach the Conference Venue (AIU)

  • Private Car & Shuttles: Private limousine services and pre-arranged hotel shuttles are the most common and reliable methods for navigating between your hotel and the AIU campus.
  • Ride-Hailing Apps: Mobile apps such as Uber and Careem operate in the region, offering a convenient way to book rides directly to the university gates.
  • By Bus: Several high-end intercity bus lines (such as Go Bus or Blue Bus) run regular services from Cairo and Alexandria directly to the New Alamein bus station.

Getting Around El Alamein

 

  • Taxis: Local taxis are abundant and can be hailed on the street or requested through your hotel reception.
  • Car Rentals: Major international car rental agencies are available at both Cairo and Borg El Arab airports for those who prefer to drive.
